இறந்தார் இறந்தார் அனையர் சினத்தைத்
துறந்தார் துறந்தார் துணை.

பொருள்: சினத்தில் அளவு கடந்து சென்றவர் இறந்தவரைப் போன்றவர், சினத்தை அடியோடு துறந்தவர் துறந்தவர்க்கு ஒப்பாவர்.

Dead are they who are anger-fed
Saints are they from whom wrath has fled.

English Meaning: Those, who give way to excessive anger, are no better than dead men; but those, who are freed from it, are equal to those who are freed (from death).
