கொன்றன்ன இன்னா செயினும் அவர்செய்த
ஒன்றுநன்று உள்ளக் கெடும்.

பொருள்: முன் செய்த உதவி செய்தவர் பின்பு கொன்றாற் போன்ற துன்பத்தைச் செய்தாரானாலும், அவர் முன் செய்த ஒரு நன்மையை நினைத்தாலும் அந்தத் துன்பம் கெடும்.

Let deadly harms be forgotten
While remembering one good-turn.

English Meaning: Even if someone causes you great harm, like an act of murder, the memory of a single good deed they previously did can overshadow that hurt. Thiruvalluvar teaches us to focus on the good in others and let gratitude triumph over anger or resentment.
