நெடுங்கடலும் தன்நீர்மை குன்றும் தடிந்துஎழிலி
தான்நல்கா தாகி விடின்.

பொருள்: மேகம் கடலிலிருந்து நீரைக் கொண்டு அதனிடத்திலே பெய்யாமல் விடுமானால், பெரிய கடலும் தன் வளம் குன்றிப் போகும்.

The ocean's wealth will waste away,
Except the cloud its stores repay.  

English Meaning: Even the vast wealth of the sea will dwindle if the clouds that draw up its waters do not return them as rain.
