நன்றாங்கால் நல்லவாக் காண்பவர் அன்றாங்கால்
அல்லற் படுவ தெவன்

பொருள்: நல்வினை விளையும் போது நல்லவை எனக் கருதி மகிழ்கின்றனர், தீவினை விளையும் போது துன்பப்பட்டுக் கலங்குவது ஏனோ.

Who good in time of good perceive
In evil time why should they grieve?

English Meaning: How is it that those, who are pleased with good fortune, trouble themselves when evil comes, (since both are equally the decree of fa te) ?
