ஓஒதல் வேண்டும் ஒளிமாழ்கும் செய்வினை
ஆஅதும் என்னு மவர்.

பொருள்: மேன்மேலும் உயர்வோம் என்று விரும்பி முயல்கின்றவர் தம்முடைய புகழ் கெடுவதற்குக் காரணமான செயலைச் செய்யாமல் விட வேண்டும்.

Those in the world desire for fame
Should shun the deed that dims their name.

English Meaning: Those who say, "we will become (better)" should avoid the performance of acts that would destroy (their fame).
