பழிமலைந்து எய்திய ஆக்கத்தின் சான்றோர்
கழிநல் குரவே தலை.

பொருள்: பழியை மேற்கொண்டு இழிதொழில் செய்து பெறும் செல்வத்தை விடச் சான்றோர் வினைத்தூய்மையோடிருந்து பெறும் பொல்லாத வறுமையே சிறந்தது.

English Meaning: Far more excellent is the extreme poverty of the wise than wealth obtained by heaping up of sinful deeds.
