திருக்குறள்

இளையர் இனமுறையர் என்றிகழார் நின்ற
ஒளியோடு ஒழுகப் படும்.

பொருள்: (அரசரை) எமக்கு இளையவர், எமக்கு இன்ன முறை உடையவர் என்று இகழாமல் அவருடைய நிலைக்கு ஏற்றவாறு அமைந்த புகழுடன் பொருந்த நடக்க வேண்டும்.

As young and kinsman do not slight;
Look with awe king's light and might.

English Meaning: Ministers should behave in accordance with the (Divine) light in the person of kings and not despise them saying, "He is our junior (in age) and connected with our family!".
