நண்பாற்றா ராகி நயமில செய்வார்க்கும்
பண்பாற்றா ராதல் கடை.

பொருள்: நட்பு கொள்ள முடியாதவராய்த் தீயவைச் செய்கின்றவரிடத்திலும் பண்பு உடையவராய் நடக்க முடியாமை இழிவானதாகும்.

Discourtesy is mean indeed
E'en to a base unfriendly breed.

English Meaning: It is wrong (for the wise) not to exhibit (good) qualities even towards those who bearing no friendship (for them) do only what is hateful.
