நட்டார்போல் நல்லவை சொல்லினும் ஒட்டார்சொல்
ஒல்லை உணரப் படும்.

பொருள்: நண்பர்போல் நன்மையானவற்றைச் சொன்னபோதிலும் பகைமை கொண்டவர் சொல்லும் சொற்களின் உண்மைத் தன்மை விரைவில் உணரப்படும்.

The words of foes is quickly seen
Though they speak like friends in fine.

English Meaning: Though (one's) foes may utter good things as though they were friends, once will at once understand (their evil, import).
