குறள் தேனீ

அருமறை சோரும் அறிவிலான் செய்யும்
பெருமிறை தானே தனக்கு.

பொருள்: அரிய மறைபொருளை மனத்தில் வைத்துக் காக்காமல் சேர்த்தும் வெளிபடுத்தும் அறிவில்லாதவன் தனக்குத் தானே பெருந்தீங்கு செய்து கொள்வான்.

The fool that slights sacred counsels
Upon himself great harm entails.

English Meaning: The fool who neglects precious counsel does, of his own accord, a great injury to himself.
