ஏரின் உழாஅர் உழவர் புயலென்னும்
வாரி வளங்குன்றிக் கால்.

பொருள்: மழை என்னும் வருவாய் வளம் குன்றிவிட்டால், (உணவுப் பொருள்களை உண்டாக்கும்) உழவரும் ஏர்கொண்டு உழ மாட்டார்.

Unless the fruitful shower descend,
The ploughman's sacred toil must end.  

English Meaning: If the generous rain that brings wealth to the land decreases, the work of the plough—the effort to cultivate and grow crops—must come to a halt. This highlights how essential rain is to farming and agriculture. Without sufficient rainfall, the soil becomes dry, crops cannot grow, and farmers are forced to stop their work. Rain is seen as a form of wealth because it directly enables food production and supports the economy. When rain is lacking, not only does agriculture suffer, but the entire cycle of prosperity and sustenance is disrupted.
