எல்லைக்கண் நின்றார் துறவார் தொலைவிடத்தும்
தொல்லைக்கண் நின்றார் தொடர்பு.

பொருள்: உரிமை வாழ்வின் எல்லையில் நின்றவர், தமக்கு அழிவுநேர்ந்தவிடத்திலும் பழைமையாய் உறவு கொண்டு நின்றவரின் தொடர்பைக் கைவிட மாட்டார்.

They forsake not but continue
In friendship's bounds though loss ensue.

English Meaning: Those who stand within the limits (of true friendship) will not even in adversity give up the intimacy of long-standing friends.
